I recently needed some keyboard icons for basic keys like “alt” and “enter” etc. for some training videos, but I couldn’t find any. I searched google for some royalty free icons and commericial icons, but just couldn’t find anything. So I spent a bit of time making my own. The result, is this “104 Standard PC Keyboard Key’s Icon Set” which I am releasing under a Creative Commons license.

These icons have proved useful for me - great for video training projects. Please drop me a comment to let me know how the icons work out for you. Enjoy compadre!

Download .EPS and .AI Vector Versions

Vector versions (.ai and .eps) of these icons are available to download for instant delivery at $17 via PayPal. If you just plan to use these icons on your website I don’t recommend downloading the vector versions; the standard png and ico files above will serve you fine. If you plan to use the icons in a video e.g. camtasia video or a presentation I recommend the vector versions. Obviously the .AI and .EPS vector versions come with the advantage of being scalable, without any real compromise in quality … this is why if you do want to use them for a presentation/video I recommend them. Both .AI and .EPS format are available, download is available instantly via paypal. Unlike the free version above these are not restricted under a creative commons license.

      Where’s the ‘Any’ key?
Seriously, that might come in handy.

Hi Ark, I am just looking at my keyboard, but I don’t see an “any” key. Are you meaning a key with no writing on it? Or are you taking the michael (ha ha)?

to press the any key, just hold A, N,and Y, while jumping up and down on one leg with a paper hat on. however, this will only work on a laptop in a public place. if nothing happens, make loud farmhouse noises.

The any key function can be used by holding A, N and Y. if any beeps are heard, ignore- this is normal. then, jump up and down on one leg while wearing a paper hat. this will only work in a public place (e.g work).

HI there Kiwee, I will look at adding a european style enter key for the next version of these icons.

Why not? The main reason why, I created these icons was because I needed them for Camtasia videos to instruct people what key commands to press in what applications.

Thanks for the icon set. Can you please make the number pad 6 and the 1! keys that appear to be missing?

Nice work! If at all possible, I’d like to see if it would be possible to get the 1! key and the 6 key for the number pad. If not that then the PSD or other source format would be helpful so we could create these keys ourself.

Again, great work. Very nice icons!

Hi. Great work, but I wish you would not limit the PNGs to 128 pixels. It would be great if all of the key sizes were proportional relative to each other. Nevertheless I plan to use this. Thanks!

Hi Logan, Ok I will see what we can do with sizes. If you want bigger versions, we have .EPS versions of the icons, which mean you can resize icons to any size without losing quality. EPS versions are available on request.

Hey Alan. Sorry I missed that. Could you email me the vector versions? (both formats, or at least AI preferrably). I plan to make a full-keyboard image like the one in your preview and this will help especially with the space bar. :)
